Where does oxidative stress come from?

Oxidative stress is a consequence of increased production of free oxygen roots in our body. Specifically, when oxidative mechanisms outweigh the corresponding antioxidants, then the levels of free oxygen roots exceed normal limits resulting in increased oxidative stress with aggravating effects on our health.

What are free oxygen radicals and how do they increase in our body?

Part of the free sunscreen develop endogenously in the body in a set of metabolic processes (eg metabolism of catecholamines, cell breathing). Their additional production is developed by environmental factors such as Atmospheric Pollution, Smoking, Anxiety of Daily, Poor Nutrition, exposure to severe sunlight and the use of medicines.

Why do we need to pay attention to our exposure to free oxygen radicals?

Increased production of free radicals accelerates the aging, the wear of our body’s cells, including brain cells. This makes us vulnerable to a number of diseases and degenerative diseases, such as premature aging, pancreatitis, Alzheimer’s disease, atherosclerosis, obesity, skin diseases, inflammation, etc.

How can we deal with free oxygen roots?

Oxygen free radicals can well be treated by enriching our diet with antioxidants. One category is flavonoids, which are a group of bioactive compounds with a high content of vegetable foods. Increased intake of antioxidants through our diet is capable of neutralizing a large proportion of free oxygen radicals, protecting our cells from damage by enhancing our resistance to many chronic diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease disorders.

Where can we consume antioxidants and flavonoids?

Among the dietary sources in the intake of flavonoids are fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and spices. Specifically from the seasonal fruit category, orange, tangerines, kiwi, berries of all kinds, pomegranates, plums, red grapes are foods with great antioxidant capacity. From the group of nuts, nuts, almonds and raisins include the category of foods characterized by powerful antioxidants. Finally for sweets, high cocoa chocolate is an ideal solution.
